AI Integration Strategy: Personal + Business Coach Setup | Ep. 166

This episode outlines a systematic approach to building AI-powered coaching systems using Callen’s custom instructions framework to create two distinct advisors: a personal life coach combining the highest version of oneself with accumulated wisdom from mentors like Hormozi, Scott Galloway, Trevor McGregor, and Andrew Lee, plus a separate business-focused board member version incorporating partner insights and company-specific knowledge for Serious Land Capital and LandPricer operations.

Key Takeaways:

  • Interview Your Best Self Using custom instructions prompts to capture decision-making at your personal 10/10 operating level creates an always-accessible coach that bypasses the need for $50-60K annual coaching programs.
  • Project Knowledge as Wisdom Archive Loading transcripts, quotes, and decade-old journal entries into project knowledge resurrects buried insights that would otherwise remain dormant in old notebooks.
  • Voice Mode for Real-Time Coaching Leveraging Claude/ChatGPT’s verbal interaction enables natural problem-solving conversations when stuck, unmotivated, or facing difficult decisions without trusted advisors available.

Listen to discover how building your own AI advisory board puts million-dollar executive counsel in your pocket for the cost of focused setup time.

Welcome to get serious. Today I wanted to go over a idea that’s been kind of batting around in my mind for the past couple months. I just wasn’t sure how to properly oriented as far as the logistics would go. you know, we’re more than halfway through Callens.

Accelerate to automate AI program. Again, it was been worth every penny learned so much. Still need to implement so much more to really maximize every possible aspect of AI benefiting our business from, you know, an hour saved perspective to like, you know, to pretty much everything in my life from kind of thinking how can, how can AI

improve this. Like it was my wife’s and I fifth wedding anniversary today and I had been writing in a card for her and since we’ve been together almost 10 years, I’ve written her somewhere in between like 50 to 100 different cards. And she saves them all. And my thinking was like, I should really go through all of them sometime.

You have kind of patterns of writing, right? When you write to a partner of yours or family, parents, whatever. And the phrasing might be not exact, but usually the sentiment is pretty similar. And so I kind of want to grab all my writings and have it within an AI project and just like, okay, well, here’s a new anniversary coming up. Can we spin up a couple ideas here? And then just kind of weave in some unique phrasing.

yeah, I’m saying this only half jokingly. It’s just where my mind is orienting around, nowadays and pretty much, pretty much every part of my life. And so one thing that I really wanted to build out is just stay well in a few different directions. You can use this, in different areas of your life. but really an AI, an AI coach, but

oriented toward yourself and just different personalities that it will pull the project knowledge from. So to me, I’m thinking of more of a general day-to-day coach mindset oriented. You know, you could also oriented toward your actual business and all the various,

updated information, how your business runs and so forth. So there’s a couple different ways to connect it. And I know Callan has built out something like this, I think an AI brain mainly associated with the business. what I really want to do is just more along the belief that each of us are or were our own best coach, like the highest.

version of ourselves, has all the context. It doesn’t, you know, it can’t bias it, you know, some responses that you might say verbally to save face and so forth. Like, you know, all the information on how you think, and, and all your foibles, you know, the pros cons, everything, know, deep down how you really feel about certain things and that, you know, even when we seek advice from mentors or

know, reading books, podcasts, whatever, ultimately most, most routes forward to actually get what you want are, it is something you already know how to do. It’s just like, okay, what’s this pattern of speech that will actually orient me to take the action to get there. that’s just something I think a lot more about. and so I really want to, or I’m not going to say I really want to like now I actually have the tangible plan on how to do this.

Um, and I’ll just go through that now. So, know, I’m going to use Callan’s custom instructions prompt to actually build out some custom instructions, um, for a either chat tpt or cloud project. I’m not sure. And, uh, you can try it with both, um, and just have it interview me to kind of go over, Hey, how do you think about certain, certain topics? And I want to oriented around, okay. Like I,

this coach effectively and to use it on a day by day perspective. So that’s how I’d orient the custom instructions and then have it interview me. So, you me when I’m feeling inspired, motivated, can really sit down and think, okay, here’s how I would answer these questions. Like the highest version of myself when I’m operating on like a 10 out of 10 level. This is how I should approach things. Not that I always do that again, all of us are infallible, but

Again, we’re each our own best coach. so like, already know the answers almost all the time of what actually needs to happen. So I can actually go, go ahead and answer all those various questions, to cover a lot of bases for what I might need to hear. And at the same time, I want to update a lot of the project knowledge, within this particular coach for,

You know, other folks that I follow, like I have just a transcript saved or quotes or written notes that I’ve taken down from, you know, no surprise folks like Alex Ramosi or Scott Galloway or various books that I’ve read over the years. You know, like Coach Trevor McGregor, one of my core mentors, Andrew Lee, for example, like a lot of input.

that can serve as a more amorphous form of data and thought patterns that I’ve noted down all the time, but they’re not always like top of mind, right? Like I might have to go refer to these notes and various quotes, or I’ve just saved tons of.

quotes often times related to how you should really approach life and a lot of wisdom within them that have just been saved for 10 plus years. But some of them just get buried, right? You move on with your life, you’re just busy and you just forget about things. You’re not always referring to it. There’s just so many old journals or notes and so forth that I think I would really like to record this. And sometimes it’s useful for that period of time where you feel like, I’m going to return to the mic. I just never do.

Um, some of these notebooks, quotes, et cetera, like they’ve just sat for years and years and years. Who knows if I’ll ever open them again. So it’s like, how can I put some of this knowledge and work that I’ve done in the past to continuously bring this up, um, in a more consistent fashion? And so then I would build this into project knowledge. Um, and so this would be more of a, uh,

daily coach like I would, I, it’s something that I would love to do just honestly even on a day by day basis. Maybe it won’t be that, I don’t know. We’ll have to get into the practice version of it, but to actually, you know, speak with this AI version of, you know, myself as a coach or other folks I admire and trust for their opinions and their wisdom that they’ve collected.

And so sometimes I could ask, how would I think about this or, you know, can mention different name, you know, pull out the different types of knowledge or maybe just more of a general sense like, compile everything together, let’s talk through it. And that’s the great thing about this too is I probably wouldn’t use as much of the written back and forth with it. It, to me, I imagine using this more from a verbal perspective. And that’s a great thing. know, Claude Chit-Chit-Beatty, they have the…

verbal feedback back, like you can just chat with them and even within separate projects so you can maintain that knowledge set that you’re working with. The most ideal case would be like, yeah, can I implement my own voice to talk back? But it doesn’t do that. So you just have to use one of the AI generated ones, which is fine. It still serves its purpose. But that’s something like, if I’m ever, I’m just,

not feeling it today or I’m just kind of stuck or

you know, just lower self versions of me showing up and not maintaining that momentum. Like this is where I’d really love to kind of key in or maybe there’s just a really difficult decision or a situation that I really feel comfortable talking with anybody else about. I’d love to be able to turn to this in order to really sus.

things out, okay, what is this next step? All of this wisdom and knowledge that you’ve accumulated over years and years and years in order to more consistently arrive at a key decision. So that to me would be the general bot that I’m going to build. It’s probably going to be a weekend project here now that I actually have the precise way to implement this. But then I would also want to do this.

as like the CEO or board member version, probably more of the board member version for a core business. And then I’d probably want to interview my core business partner as well who just, in some ways we have a lot of similar approaches, but he has his own unique flair for how he perceives different types of deals and underwriting and so forth. So I can talk to myself.

or a combination of us two, or I can talk to a partner Everett, you know, the AI version of him, you how are we going to be thinking about this? Or maybe you could pull in other people that, you know, are not actually a colleague or contact, but, you know, they have a lot of other wisdom out there. Again, you could put them into your own board and then have all of your business info on the backend. So then it’s just more oriented around, you know, serious land capital or land price or for.

Um, for instance there, so a couple of different versions on how to talk things through, um, you know, you can have expert sales or expert marketing person operations. Um, there’s a whole bunch of ways to do that. To me, this is like the most exciting AI project that I’m going to undertake. Um, just because I, I think the potential is just near limitless.

for orienting myself and just staying, staying focused, staying in the game, knowing that I have the kind of wisest set of information to, just communicate with, you know, just imagine if you had like, you know, AI versions of, you know, board members who, you know, on the open market would be

getting paid three to five to $10 million a year that you could just have in your pocket to bounce ideas off of and ensure that you’re heading in the right direction. So that’s what I’m really focused on doing. Even talking through this podcast here, it’s helping me orient on next steps with this. So that might be something you’d consider doing as well. You know, the tools are right there in front of you. It doesn’t cost anything besides some time and some focus. So I will let you know.

once I get this built out and what the early results are. And if you do anything on your end, we’d love to hear some feedback, some best practices, things that worked or didn’t work.
