Land Pricer Beta Is Out And This Time, It’s Real | Ep. 79

This episode captures the pre launch excitement after Land Pricer reached minimum viable product status following nearly a month of additional engineering challenges beyond the initially announced release date. The product passed internal testing with smooth UI flow, marking a critical psychological shift from doubt about viability to confidence in market readiness, with beta invites scheduled and public launch planned within approximately 10 days of successful testing.

Key Takeaways:

  • MVP Delays Are Standard in Software The near month delay from initial release announcement to actual beta invites reflects normal software development reality, not failure.
  • Internal Team Usage Validates Product Value Even if market reception disappoints, the Land Pricer provides measurable internal utility for deal review, ensuring the year of investment wasn’t wasted.
  • Celebrate Milestones Before Final Validation Recording excitement at the beta invite stage, before market feedback, documents genuine progress and maintains team morale through uncertainty.

Listen to the full episode to experience the raw anticipation of launching a year long project and the specific communication strategies used with engineering teams.

Hi, Chris Duff over at Serious Land Capital vacant land funding partner. today just wanted to mention, kind of the burgeoning excitement just sent out beta invites for land price her. I know I had recorded a pod about kind of our imminent release. mean, honestly, this was, this was close to a month ago.

obviously that wasn’t the case. were just several more issues that had to be solved and engineering challenges of which I discussed, a few times over the past couple of weeks here, but, finally got to a place where things are really moving smoothly. MVP, minimum viable product for those of you who, aren’t as familiar with the software space, is complete and, already

been internally testing and I just I love the kind of the smoothness of the flow. think the UI is solid here. And, you know, I may be biased, obviously, just given the amount of time spent on this product and obviously have a lot of incentive to ensure that it works.

and, and, turns out well for the overall industry, but there were plenty of times earlier on where I was just not that pumped about what we had put together and wondering if I was going in the wrong direction. Was this even going to be viable or not? and now that, has, largely passed because I think, you know, all this extra time that it’s taken to get things ready, is really, has really paid off. and to where,

you me probably being the harshest critic for my own product and, uh, you know, having that necessary attention to detail, um, that’s allowed us to have so much success, um, as a land funder. Um, you know, it’s, it’s, it’s all come together here to where, you know, I’m really feeling proud of, what we’ve, uh, what we’ve built. And I have a feeling that it’s going to be, um, uh, part of the repertoire for, uh, many land investors within the industry.

so yeah, just wanted to kind of record that initial excitement again. Now, like there’s truly, you know, even though it was just beta testing, you know, maybe 10 or so of you that, I, I invited, to partake in trying to get all of that wrapped up by Friday of next week. So, you know, roughly a week and a half and, assuming we have like no critical key errors and so forth. I mean, we’re always going to be doing fine tuning.

We will plan to release publicly thereafter.

That’s kind of the point of the podcast here is just this kind of unknown point of pre-launch here, even pre-beta invite. Maybe I’ll be proven wrong and it just ends up being a disaster. I don’t know. But at least for posterity, I wanted to record at least feeling personally proud of what we’ve spent the last year on.

tons of monetary and time resources getting to this point, blood, sweat and tears, more tears than anything lately, especially. But I think that effort has really paid off and I’m already having my internal team use it now. Yeah, expecting to get some more feedback from really trusted land investors and can’t wait to get this out to you all, start marketing it more fully.

probably see me doing a circuit across other people’s platforms more over the coming weeks and months here. But at least wanted to kind of nail down this particular point in time of what I’m feeling like at the moment. So.

a lot of like tangible learnings here. It’s just more kind of sharing excitement, but you know, celebrating wins. That’s, what, um, you know, part of business is about too. And, uh, I certainly think this one qualifies, um, plus just getting a lot better at, I think communication with an engineering team. Um, I’ve definitely taken my lumps there. Uh, could have done a million things better, but I’ll only be better, uh, going forward. And, um, you know, sometimes I struggle just being such a

perfectionist and wanting to get things in line of, uh, you know, more, more, um, kind of critiques about, ah, you know, we still need to get this done, this done here and so forth sprinting to get, to get things done. But, um, you know, when, when positive, uh, milestones have been reached, um, I try to be much better at sharing, Hey, you guys really did a great job. She feel proud of yourselves. Um, you know, this isn’t going to just be vaporware, uh, disappear off into the ether. Like there’s.

real utility. So that is something I was trying to convey to the team amidst all of that more recent disappointment that I expressed to them over the past few weeks. So trying to turn the page and move forward in a more positive direction here. So, but we got here one way or another. I’m feeling proud of what we’ve built. I sure hope.

the rest of the industry feels the same way. Even if it doesn’t, I still think it was a win as far as learnings and what we’re going to be doing with it internally. So that is what I can still hang my hat on at the end of the day. With that, if you’re looking for funding, Serious Land Capital, we’ve got a ton of more deals in over the past couple of days. I was just on AJ’s Fund My Deal group just before recording this. Got a lot of…

kind of solid feedback there, questions answered. So, you know, just trying to keep, keep the industry moving forward as much as possible. sharing more land price or with them, probably in a couple of weeks here, land daily diligence, Facebook group, getting new member requests every day. excited to see that we’re almost at 900 members now getting closer day by day. and, also landpricer.ai, which I just discussed.

throughout this whole podcast. You will be seeing it live very shortly. Okay, with that, take care everybody. Bye.
